Our medical professionals work closely with patients to carefully diagnose conditions and develop a specific treatment plan to minimize and possibly eliminate your symptoms.

Are you suffering from seasonal or environmental allergies?

What to Expect at Your First Visit With an Allergy Specialist

When you come in for your first visit with one of our allergy specialists, we will take the time to understand your symptoms and concerns. The process of a first visit with an allergist typically follows these three steps:

  1. Medical History & Symptom Discussion: Your ENT allergy specialist will ask detailed questions to understand your symptoms, including their duration, frequency, and type, as well as potential triggers like foods, pollen, or pets.
  2. Physical Examination: A focused physical exam will be performed to check common allergy-affected areas, such as your eyes, nose, throat, and skin.
  3. Follow-up Recommendations: Based on your symptoms, the allergist may recommend a follow-up appointment to perform specific allergy tests.

Allergy Skin Testing

Skin testing is the most common method for identifying allergens that trigger your symptoms. This quick and minimally invasive test helps pinpoint your specific triggers. We offer skin prick testing, where allergens are applied to your skin, and intradermal testing, where allergens are injected under the skin. We offer testing for patients ages 10 and up.

After Your Allergy Test

After reviewing your history and test results, the allergist will provide a diagnosis and develop a personalized treatment plan, which could include strategies for trigger avoidance, medications, immunotherapy, or dietary changes.
